Career Highlights:
A lightweight from Brooklyn in the early decades of the 20th Century. He began his career 1908 and was knocked out in the second round by Jewish fighter Young Otto (who holds the record for most first round knockouts). Three years later, he fought Leach Cross, one of the most popular fighters in Lower East Side. According to research conducted by www.boxrec.com, Cross knocked Bedell down twice before Bedell knocked him down twice. In the tenth, and final, round, Cross knocked Bedell out to end a terrific fight.

Two weeks later, on March 30, 1911, Bedell and Cross fought again, but Bedell was knocked out in the second round. 11 months later, he fought Owen Moran, a former world bantamweight champion and top featherweight contender, to a ten-round no decision.
