Born in New York, Ginsberg began his professional career in the early 1920s. In May 1923, he fought Sid Terris, considered one of the fastest fighters in history, and lost a six-round decision. Two years later, in January 1925, Moe fought lightweight contender and future Chilean lightweight champion Stanislaus Loayza at Madison Square Garden, but lost a four-round decision.
