Born in New York, the New York Times described Stark as being from the 'East Side' in his December 1930 knockout victory over Jackie Chasin. Stark, who started boxing professionally earlier that year, did not lose his first pro fight until June 1932 when he lost a six-round decision to Jerry Mazza in an 'exciting encounter.' Stark, who fought a six-round draw against Lou Ambers in November of that year (Ambers was the world lightweight champion in the late 1930s), fought until the late 1930s, although the exact dates of his career are unclear.
