A lightweight, Spiegel fought professionally in the 1930s and early 1940s. According to boxrec.com, Spiegel fought over 100 times, including against Jewish boxers Benny Bass, Lew Feldman, and Davey Day. Spiegel died at the age of 32 in Cleveland - according to the announcment of his death in the New York Times, he "was known as the 'fighter with the game leg' because his right knee was stiff from a high school football injury."
