Harvey Sherwin Levy

Levy played college ball for his hometown Syracuse Orangemen, then played one season in the NFL with the New York Yankees.

b. June 8, 1902 - d. September 29, 1986

Career Highlights:
An offensive lineman, Levy played three seasons in the mid-1920s for some very successful Syracuse teams. In 1924, the Orangemen had a record of 8-2-1. The following year, they finished 8-1-1 and in 1926, they had a record of 7-2-1. During his college career, Levy also competed as a member of the Syracuse boxing team in 1925 and 1926.
After graduating, Levy played in all 12 regular season games for the 1928 New York Yankees. The team had moved to the NFL from the failed AFL (a league started by Red Grange's agent so Grange could play in New York). The New York Giants owner allowed the Yankees to enter the NFL, foregoing his territorial rights. Unfortunately for the Levy and the Yankees, they had to operate exclusively as a road team and finished the season with a 4-8-1 record.

Career Dates:
Levy played guard and tackle at Syracuse University from 1924-1926. He then played as a guard and tackle in the NFL with the New York Yankees in 1928.
