Semansky played end at the University of Vermont in the 1920s, and was the football team's captain in 1923.

Career Highlights:
A member of Vermont's All-Time Team, Semansky helped Vermont to a 6-3 victory over Dartmouth in 1922, their first win in 26 attempts. In 1923, Semansky was team captain and named All-America honorable mention by The Boston Post. He was also the basketball captain in 1923.
