Sesit, Mike

Myron F. Sesit

Seisit played halfback for Columbia University in the 1920s and was named to Columbia's All-Time Second Team by the New York Sun. The Columbia Spectator called him: "the best defensive back ever at Columbia." In 1927, he captained the Columbia wrestling team and won the 175-pound Eastern Intercollegiate Championship.

Career Highlights:
Born in New York, Sesit attended Commerce High School and was close friends with the great Lou Gehrig (they played in the backfield together for the Commerce football team). After graduating, Sesit (and Gehrig) attended Columbia University and Mike was named New York Times All-America honorable mention in 1925 and 1926 - in his final season with the Lions, Sesit scored three touchdowns. During his three year career at Columbia, the Lions had a combined record of 17-9-2.
