Thomas C. Samuels

An offensive lineman at the University of Michigan in the early 1930s, Samuels helped protect Wolverine quarterback Harry Newman during the 1930 and 1931 seasons.

Career Highlights:
After playing his high school football at Canton McKinley High School, Samuels attended college powerhouse, Michigan. In 1930, Tom started three games at left tackle and three games at right tackle as the Wolverines finished the season with a record of 8-0-1, outscoring their opponents 111-23. Michigan had a conference record of 5-0-0 and tied Northwestern for the Big Ten title.

In 1931, Samuels started eight games at right tackle and Michigan repeated as conference champions (5-1-0) with a regular season record of 8-1-1. Their only loss was to Ohio State in front of 58,000 people at Michigan Stadium.
