Singer was a lineman at Michigan for two seasons in the 1930s. In 1932, Michigan was led by All-America quarterback Harry Newman and finished the season as the undefeated national champions (8-0-0). They outscored their opponents 123-13; only Michigan State and Princeton scored against Michigan all season. In 1933, Michigan repeated as national champions, ending the year with a record of 7-0-1. They tied Minnesota, 0-0, and outscored their opponents 131-18.
