Gottesman, Sam

Gottesman was an offensive lineman and a three-year starter at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2000, the Quakers captured the Ivy League title.

Career Highlights:
Born in California, Gottesman was a three-sport star at Temple City High School and earned seven letters in football, track, and wrestling. A two-year football captain, Sam was also a two-time All-Conference selection in high school. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania and became a three-year starter for the Quakers.

After lettering as a freshman in 1998, Gottesman started all 10 games at left guard the following year as Penn finished fourth in the Ivy League with a record of 4-3-0 (5-5-0 overall). In 2000, the team won the Ivy League championship with a 6-1-0 record (7-3-0 overall) and one of the best passing attacks in the nation. As a senior in 2001, Gottesman helped Penn finish 8-1-0 overall and second in the conference (6-1-0).
