Alexander Fabian

Considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world in the 1920s, Fabian was a member of the famed Hakoah-Vienna. The club has been inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

Career Highlights:
Fabian was the starting goalkeeper for Hakoah-Vienna in the mid-1920s, and turned in a brilliant performance in 1926 when the club played a ten-game tour in the United States. One of the most popular players on the club, Fabian was an Austrian International before emigrating to the U.S. in 1927 (after a second U.S. tour) to play in the American Soccer League. He played in the ASL for the New York Giants in 1927 and 1928 and then moved to the New York Hakoahs (also known as the Hakoah All-Stars) in 1929-30.
