Oz, a midfielder, was a member of Israel's National soccer team in the 1970s. Between 1973-1977, he made 17 international appearances (caps), but did not score. He also played in the 1976 Olympics (which are not considered full international games).

Career Highlights:
At the 1976 Olympics, Oz was a member of the Israeli soccer team that reached the quarterfinals and finished fifth. Yaron was a starting midfielder in two of Israel's three preliminary games; against Guatemala in a 0-0 draw, and against Mexico in a 2-2 draw (he scored Israel's first goal in the match). Israel also played France to a 1-1 draw; their three points put them second in the group behind France, good enough advance to the quarterfinals. Oz started in the midfield and played the entire game in the quarterfinal match against Brazil, who defeated Israel 4-1.
