Olympic Info:
Yonassi competed at two Olympiads as a member of the Israeli shooting team. At the 1984 Los Angeles Games, Yonassi participated in three events, the three-position, air rifle, and small-bore rifle. He had the most success in the air rifle competition, finishing in eighth place with 582 points (out of 600), and just missing a medal by 5 points. In the men's three-position event (rifle), Yonassi finished tied for 39th with 1,117 points (the gold medalist had 1,173). His worst finish came in the small-bore rifle event where he placed 49th with 582 points.

Yonassi returned to the Olympics four years later at the 1988 Seoul Games and competed in two events. Once again, he had more success in the air rifle competition, and he finished 16th overall. In the small-bore rifle event, Yitzhak finished 51st with 584 points.

Career Highlights:
In 1977, Yonassi became the Israeli shooting champion for the first time. He then won at least one of the three shooting categories every year through 1991.
