Hadar then swam in the 400-meter freestyle (won by Tiffany Cohen in an Olympic record) and again finished fifth in her preliminary heat with a time of 4:34.95. In that event she placed 21st overall.

Although scheduled to compete in the 800-meter freestyle (also won by Cohen in another Olympic record), Hadar skipped the race.
