Sidney Schacht

Schacht, a right-handed pitcher, appeared in 19 games, combined, for the St. Louis Browns and Boston Braves in 1950-51. Considered a promising prospect before the 1950 season, Schacht had gone 19-5 with a 2.44 ERA for Scranton in 1949. The scouting report said that Sid "just keeps getting better each year."

Career Highlights:
After three good years in the minors, Sid finally got his chance in the majors with the Browns in 1950. That year, he struck out 7 in 10.2 innings over 8 games, though he did also walk 14. The following season, Schacht pitched for the Browns and for the Boston Braves. In 5 appearances for the Braves, he had a 1.93 ERA. One of his teammates on Boston was Sid Gordon. Schacht appeared in a total of 19 games in his major league career, finishing with an 0-2 record.
