Raskin played at the City College of New York in the 1920s, and is a member of the CCNY Athletic Hall of Fame.

Career Highlights:
Raskin was nicknamed "Little Tubby'"because his brother, Morris Raskin (class of 1922) preceded him as captain of the basketball team and was nicknamed "Big Tubby." In 1927, Julius captained the CCNY team, leading them to a 9-3 record.
