A boxer in the heavyweight division, Fox began his professional career in the mid-1920s. In November 1927, he fought Leo "One Punch" Williams and knocked out his opponent in the first-round. In June 1931, Fox fought heavyweight contender Natie Brown, but lost an eight-round decision. The previous month, he had defeated Ed "Unknown" Winston in an eight-round decision. Fox fought Winston twice in 1933, but lost both bouts.
