Career Highlights:
Leiner began his professional career in the late 1920s, fighting mostly in the New York City area. In October 1930, he fought former Puerto Rican featherweight champion Koli Kolo, but lost a ten-round decision. The following year, Leiner twice fought one of the greatest boxers of the era, Kid Chocolate, the former world featherweight champion and future world junior lightweight champ. In June 1931, Leiner lost a ten-round decision in the first bout, held in White Plains, New York. The second bout took place only five months later, but Leiner was knocked out in the first-round.
