Born in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, Pearl began his professional career in the 1930s. In February 1932, he fought Jewish boxer Al Roth in Jamaica Queens, New York to a four-round draw. Four years later, Pearl fought Katsumi Morioka in Brooklyn and lost a four-round decision. Although records are sparce, Pearl continued to fight in the New York area for the rest of the decade. Among the boxers he fought were Sammy Venti, Mickey LaRosa, and Mike Raffa.
