From Brooklyn, Roth fought exclusively in the New York Metropolitan area during his professional career. In November 1929, he was knocked out in the third-round against Andy DiVodi. Roth returned to the ring shortly after and in March 1930, defeated Dick Elias on a second-round technical knockout after knocking down his opponents 11 times in the first two rounds.
