Seltzer, Aaron

A featherweight as both an amateur and professional, Seltzer won the New York Golden Gloves (novice) championship in 1935. During his professional career, he fought against four world champions; Lou Salica, Willie Pep, Joey Archibald, and Sal Bartolo.

Career Highlights:
After capturing the Golden Gloves title in 1935, Seltzer turned professional as a featherweight. In 1941, he fought Joey Iannotti twice and lost both fights. In January 1942, Seltzer fought against world bantamweight champion Lou Salica in a non-title fight and lost a ten-round decision. He then fought Iannotti twice more over the next couple of months and won both bouts on decisions.

In April 1942, he fought a ten-round draw against former world featherweight champion, Joey Archibald. The following month, he fought future world featherweight champion (and Hall of Famer), Willie Pep and lost an eight-round decision in Pep's hometown of Hartford, Connecticut. In September 1943, he fought another future world featherweight champion Sal Bartolo and lost a ten-round decision.
