Career Highlights:
A featherweight, Chernoff turned professional in the mid-1940s. He fought the majority of his bouts in the New York area, including Newark (New Jersey), Brooklyn, Coney Island, and Long Beach (on Long Island). In June 1947, he fought a six-round draw against Charley Titone, one month after losing to Titone. In July 1947, he split decisions with Joe Gamby.
