Jerome M. Notowitz

Notowitz played for Missouri in the 1940 Orange Bowl. During World War II, he served as a bombadier and participated in America's first air attack on the lowlands - he was killed on a routine flight in England in August 1942.

Career Highlights:
Notowitz played for Missouri for three seasons. In 1939, the Tigers won their season opener against Colorado, 30-0, before falling to Ohio State, 19-0, in the second game. Missouri won the rest of their regular season games, including victories over Nebraska, 27-13, and Oklahoma, 7-6. The Tigers finished the regular season with a record of 8-1-0 and won the Big Six Conference title (5-0-0).

The 1939 season also saw Missouri ranked No. 6 in the nation as they played in the school's first bowl game in 15 years (in 1924, they played in the Christmas Festival Bowl). In the Orange Bowl, though, the Tigers were upset by No. 16 Georgia Tech, 21-7. In 1940, Missouri posted a record of 6-3-0.
