A member of the Israeli track and field team at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Sabag ran in the marathon and finished in 60th place with a time of 2:31:34.

Career Highlights:
One of Israel's top distance runners in the 1980s, Sabag was a world-class marathon runner. In 1984, only three months before competing in the Los Angeles Olympics, Sabag won the Lake County Marathon (held in Chicago) with a time of 2:21:47. Five years later, he won the Vancouver International Marathon in a time of 2:19:41.

Shem-Tov also competed in other events and he still ranks in the Israeli national top ten in five events. As of May 2003, Shem-Tov had the sixth fastest marathon time in Israeli history 2:18:23 (run in 1984), and is also tenth in the half-marathon (1:06:21 -- 1985), fourth in the 10,000-meter (29:23.34 -- 1986), sixth in the 5000-meter (14:05.2 -- 1986), and fifth in the 3000-meter (8:08.57 -- 1986).
