Gordon, Jackie "Pitsy"

A bantamweight from New York City, Gordon fought professionally in the 1920s. After his boxing career, Gordon owned part of gym in Brooklyn, named Gordon's Gym. In the early 1930s, he sold his interest to Charley Beecher, who changed the name to Beecher's Gym.

Career Highlights:
In March 1923, Gordon fought Eddie "Cannonball" Martin in Brooklyn and was knocked out in the fifth-round -- Martin won the world championships the following year. In October 1924, Gordon defeated Herman "Kid Silvers" Silverberg in a ten-round decision.

The following year, Gordon went west and fought Clinton "Cracker" Warren in Salt Lake City (Utah) -- he lost a six-round decision. Gordon remained in the west for a couple of years and defeated Stewart McLean in a six-round decision in Oakland (California) in November 1925. He then fought in San Francisco and drew Young Farrell in a ten-round bout that same month, and won a ten-round decision over Kewpie Riley in Spetember 1926
