Harold D. Devine

Devine captured the 1928 Olympic bronze medal in the featherweight class while fighting for the United States.

Career Highlights:
Devine turned professional as a featherweight after returning from the Olympics. Fighting exclusively in his native state of Massachusetts, Harry was knocked out by popular veteran Chick Suggs on January 9, 1929. Three months later, the two boxers met again in Devine's hometown of Worcester, and Harry showed his improvement by winning a 10-round decision over the formidable Suggs.

In June 1929, Devine defeated Benny "Kid" Carter on a 10-round decision in June before losing a 10-round decision to future European champ Maurice Holtzer in September 1929. In April 1934, Devine fought Werther Arcelli for the New England welterweight title and won on an eighth-round disqualification. Devine retired from the ring in the mid-1930s.
