Reif, Morris

A welterweight in the 1940s, Reif fought out of Brooklyn and was a contender for the Brooklyn welterweight title in 1945.

Career Highlights:
A top Brooklyn welterweight in the 1940s, Reif was a contender in the middle of the decade. In 1945, he fought lightweight and junior welterweight contender Willie Joyce in Washington, D.C. The ten-round bout went the distance, but Reif lost the decision.

Later that year, he fought Harold Green for the vacant Brooklyn welterweight title, but lost. In January 1946, Reif fought Hall of Famer Beau Jack at Madison Square Garden. Jack, the former world lightweight champion, defeated Morris on a fourth-round knockout.
